“More than just one day, I need a lifetime of these to celebrate you.”- Daily Haiku on Love by Tyler Knott Gregson
During our walk with Emily and Sam these words ringed out in my mind. They’re so in love! There’s something magical in knowing new people, and every time this happens, I understand why our paths have crossed. I truly believe that everything we do and everyone we meet is put in our path for a purpose. There are no accidents. This lovely couple, planned a romantic tuscany honeymoon in April.
We thought a lot where to end our walk, and we choose one of the most beautiful places in our city. A terrace that seems to be floating in the air. I like to imagine that someone climbs on this terrace early in the morning only to see the Duomo as the sun rises, and every night before go to bed, repeats this magical ritual, to view it framed by the stars. Oh, yes, Magic is everywhere, and sometimes find you even you’re far, far away.
and here…some tips if you’ll comee to italy for a tuscany honeymoon! (florence is a must to do!!)
the Uffizi: A must see! Also if you’re not so much “museum person” ,we believe you can appreciate that at the Uffizi you are truly standing in the presence of genius. This is the oldest museum in the Western World and it is the home of all the great paintings. An advice? Stray yourself in museum…you will feel like being brought to another era…
Galleria dell’ Accademia. One of the finest piece of art in the world, Michelangelo’s David, is here. People coming to Florence, even those who don’t know what else to see, will almost express a desire to see the original David (the one outside Palazzo Vecchio is, of course, a marble copy). Sculpted out of marble each vein, tendon and muscle is perfectly proportioned and life like, as if any time David is going to walk off his platform to take on Goliath. Our advice is to visit the Uffizi at first, because nothing measures up after seeing David! Do you know that there are many copies of the David? One was given to Queen Victoria, who had it shipped directly to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London in 1857. Queen Victoria then visited the museum and was shocked by David’s nudity. A special fig leaf was strategically hung on two hooks in front of David’s genitalia and was kept ready for visiting dignitaries (aaah!)
The Duomo: The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore is a pillar of the Florence skyline. Almost anywhere you go in Florence, this gothic style cathedral is visible (like the north star!!). The dome on the cathedral has remained one of the tallest in the world since 1436, when it was built. You can even climb to the top: it’s not so easy, if you search on google you’ll find a variable steps number from 413 to 463….but the moment you have the last step an go outside, if you’re still breathless, it’s only for the beauty in front of you !!
Piazza della Signoria: One of the best ways to experience Florence is simply to wander around the narrow alleys and enjoy the many piazzas. the most famous one is Piazza della Signoria. This square is decorated with statues by some of the most famous artists in Florentine history, and it is the heart of the city. Sit in Loggia dei Lanzi and breathe in all the magic!! I think one of the best moment to see it is at sunrise: yes I know it’ s hard to wake up early during vacation, but the magical light will reward you.
Ponte Vecchio: Here you will find one of the best views in the whole city, maybe all of Italy…maybe even the whole world! The current bridge was finished by 1350, built after a catastrophic flood in 1333 carried away its predecessor. It is best known today for the wooden-shuttered goldsmiths’ shops that line both sides of it, and for the Vasari Corridor that runs over it. An advice: the old bridge is often really crowded…then come there early in the morning! (of course sunset is magical seen here!)
There are lot of beautiful places to see in Florence, and lot of restaurants where food is…delicious!! your tuscany honeymoon will be even more beautiful with Italian food!

Would you like to have a special night with view?
Our advice is to choose one of the beautiful rooftop bar in our city: Grand hotel Minerva (http://www.grandhotelminerva.com/en/rooftop-pool-in-florence.html) has maybe the best scenic terrace (they call it “seventh heaven!) with a dreaming pool and delicious foodie.
